Permission Required:

To enable webcam access on macOS:

  1. Go to System SettingsPrivacy & SecurityCamera
  2. Ensure your browser (Chrome/Safari/Firefox) is listed and enabled
  3. If not listed, refresh the browser page to trigger permission request
  4. For persistent issues, try: System SettingsPrivacy & SecurityMicrophone (if audio is also needed)

Troubleshooting:

  • Close and reopen your browser
  • Try refreshing the page
  • Check that no other applications are using the webcam

Important Notes:

  • Turn off ad blocking software
  • Close other resource-heavy applications
  • Close unnecessary browser tabs

Microphone & Webcam Issues

Required Permissions:

  • Accept webcam and microphone permissions
  • If refused, try incognito window to re-trigger prompts
  • Adjust settings during onboarding (requires browser refresh)

Enable Camera & Microphone Access by Browser:

Safari
  1. Right-click the website address bar and select Settings for This Website.
  2. In the menu below the address bar, set:
    • Camera: Allow
    • Microphone: Allow
    • Auto-Play: Allow All Auto-Play
Chrome
  1. Click the "Site settings" icon (three sliders) next to your browser's address bar.
  2. A settings panel will appear.
  3. Under Permissions, set:
    • Camera: Allow
    • Microphone: Allow

Mobile Devices & Tablets

Mobile devices and tablets are not supported for our events. You must use a laptop or desktop computer to participate.

VPN & Firewall Issues

Troubleshooting Steps:

  1. Try connecting with VPN turned off
  2. Try connecting through another network (phone hotspot)
  3. Contact IT department to whitelist required domains
